Professor Radu Florescu (1925-2014) ... was a faculty member at Boston College where he headed the East European Research Center of New England. He has contributed a large library of Romania-related books to the College and in 1996 was the first person to be designated 'Honorary Consul of Romania' in America. His work includes published works on legendary figures in literature including the fictional and real Dracula (See: In Search of Dracula, with Raymond T. McNally) and Frankenstein. His final work was a biography of General Ioan Florescu (more), prominent in military affairs in the 1870s and later prime minister of Romania. He Maintained homes in the US, France and Romania.
