- 500 mile (800 km) kayak expedition around the So. Korean Peninsula's archipelago of 3000 islands. Chart above shows a one day crossing and unpredictable course outcomes in a thick fog and in an area of severe tide rips (which were used to advantage in 1595 to defeat Japan's invading armada).
