| Dartmouth Korea Expedition - 1985 (Ledyard Canoe Club). The Dartmouth team invited five Korean individuals to join the expedition. Korea: Peter Ahn, Youn Hee Kim, Juny Mi Son, Kye Won Kim, Young Suk Pak; Dartmouth: Dan Dimancescu, David Hamlin, Keith Philpott, Genevieve 'Viva' Hardigg, Jamie Hardigg, Elizabeth Welch, Sarah Waters. Hand crafted fiberglass Swedish-built kayaks were used to travel the 500 mile (800 km) along the southern island-dotted peninsula during the summer of 1985. MBC-TV (Korean) produced severeal one-hour shows and its footage was re-dited for American NBC-TV by David Hamlin. The group received substantial support from the Ryu* family, MBC-TV and was featured on national Korean TV periodically.
